With hours remaining to vote, local groups offer voter support

Polls are open now until 7 p.m.

On Tuesday, the Alabama Black Women’s Roundtable—a nonprofit, nonpartisan civic organization—will continue distributing $25 Lyft vouchers to Alabama voters in need of transportation to and from the polls. Voters should call 205-538-3778 to obtain a voucher code.

The group is also partnering with Lawyers and Collars and the Alabama Election Protection to place poll watchers at precincts throughout Alabama. The group is also providing on-site legal assistance to any Alabamian having difficulty casting a vote. Voters reporting issues or requesting assistance can call 205-538-3778.

Also on Tuesday afternoon, nonprofit Faith and Works will provide food and entertainment for voters waiting in line at three polling locations in the Birmingham area: Legion Field, Ensley Recreation Center, and Wiggins Recreation Center. The event will last until 7 p.m.
