Debate updates:
The Commission on Presidential Debates will allow candidates to use plexiglass on the debate stage. Katie Miller, communications director for Mike Pence who traveled with him to prep for the debate in Salt Lake City, suggested he would not use the barrier as a precautionary measure. However, an image of the debate stage tweeted Wednesday morning by a NBC News correspondent shows two plexiglass dividers between the candidates’ tables.
Pence’s physician released a statement Tuesday indicating he has tested negative for COVID-19. The statement was released in response to concerns regarding Pence’s exposure to the virus. Among the concern is exposure to President Donald Trump who tested positive last week, Miller who contracted the virus in May, and Miller’s husband- Stephen Miller-who tested positive for the virus Tuesday.
